Garage Sale Sets New Record!

Hats off to Joanne Burgess, for her outstanding effort putting together this year's Garage Sale. Besides being our Volunteer Coordinator, Joanne tracked down racks for the sale, physically moved merchandise into and out of the sales hall, scheduled the many workers needed to make the sale possible and had a kind word of encouragement for everyone.

Mitzi Connell and Debbie May are our September Volunteers of the Month. Both women have worked with CAC for over nine years and at this time they keep our Clothes Closet up and running: sorting and sizing donations as they come in, packing and unpacking clothes as the seasons change, and fitting clients as they come in for assistance. Mitzi often scouts out yard sales where she buys good, useable men's jeans for CAC clients.

Keeping our Food Pantry running is Sonia Lynn. Sonia came to CAC in 2001 and has worked at least three days a week every week since then. Sonia makes it her responsibility to package bread for clients, repackage large containers of sugar, rice, and flour that are donated, and carefully and thoughtfully fill grocery bags. When not in the Pantry, Sonia finds toys, cookies, or school supplies for the waiting children of clients.

Thank you, and the many other volunteers who keep CAC on the go!!
